I’m an Assistant Professor at the West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin, working within the Department of Polymer and Biomaterials Science of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering. I’m a bioengineer and my research interests lie primarily in the area of cells interacting with interfaces, such as drug delivery nano/microcarriers or tissue engineering scaffolds, or even air bubbles! In this context, I am interested in biopolymers and biomimetic approaches.

When doing cell adhesion studies, we want to know what percentage of the seeded cells actually adhered to the material (for example a thin, spin coated film on a coverslip). We can image the coverslip and using the area and cell density calculate this percentage. However, if the cells are not seeded uniformly, this can aff...
Elsevier has a bad reputation and rightfully so, but HardwareX is a gem of a journal. It's open access and with a $500 publication fee it's downright cheap in comparison to most OA journals these days. Importantly, it's really about open hardware. So the hardware needs meet the Open Source Hardware Association (OSHWA) defin...
