Low DNA yield after gel extraction

I want to know if it is common to get low DNA yield after gel extraction? I get a yield of 5.8 ng/ul of extracted gel product from a 50ul PCR product loaded with 2ug DNA (using QIAquick Gel extraction kit suggested by 2017 protocol).

I am using LentiGuide plasmid and can see a correct band size at around 350 bp, though not very clear.

Usually when I load 2ug of DNA for restriction and extract through gel in 30ul of water I get quantity of 20-25 ng/ul. I rarely purify PCR product through gel but usually get nearly 70-80% recovery. You might need to change your elution buffer (I always use water) and may be pre-heat your elution buffer and keep it in column for 1-2 mins before spin . If there are dimers or multiple bands this can also effect the quantity. if you have 6ng in 30ul its just 180ng in total which is very low yield. So may be you need to optimize it more.
