Hosting a Free R&D focused CRISPR event on May 12th from 6-9pm in Los Angeles!

Curious to learn about the revolutionary CRISPR gene editing tech? From education to academia, to industry: here we unravel its life cycle.

Sci Find and The Fancy Labcoat Guild have started our first series of hybrid in-person/virtual fireside chats to educate and empower researchers on different topical niches and experimentalism as a whole. This is the first of many events that is a mixture of networking, panel discussion, and food (Yes...you heard me right graduate students!). Thanks to our sponsors at BioscienceLA, we've organized a space where industrial and academic partners come together.

The first of our fireside chat series is centered around gene-editing technologies. CRISPR/Cas9 is one of the most transformative new developments in biotechnology, dramatically reducing the complexity of the process of editing genomes and increasing its accessibility on a mass scale. Our speakers will be coming from the primary branches of researchers that are bringing this technology from the lab bench to the body. We will have a panel of speakers coming from academia, research, and education to create a comprehensive view of the life cycle of CRISPR and where we can insert ourselves––No pun intended!

Before, and after the panel, you will have a chance to speak and network with individuals from across the CRISPR space in Los Angeles and discover all the opportunities (i.e recruitment) that are within arms reach.

Join us on Thursday, May 12th, from 6 pm - 9 pm PDT at BioscienceLA's headquarters at 4130 Overland Ave in Culver City.

Schedule:

Networking + Mixer: 6-6:45 pm

Opening Statements and Sci Find Introduction: 6:45-7 pm

Panel Discussion: 7-8 pm

Q&A: 8:00-8:15 pm

Networking: 8:15-9 pm
